Simplenote. An easy way to keep notes, lists, ideas, and more

Like the name says, it's a very simple note taking/saving site. It integrates with various free mobile apps and desktop programs and synchs your notes between them. I'm currently using it with mNote and Flick Note on my DROIDX, (I'm testing both to see which I like better). I also just downloaded a Windows desktop program called GumNotes to see how that works with it.

While I primarily use Evernote as my "other brain", sometimes, I just want a simple notepad to save bits of text that I use frequently, either at home or at work. This led me to check out Simplenote. It's really easy to use, free, and so far, it's doing what I need it to do.

I just received an e-mail informing me that I've been invited to join Google Voice. This is really cool! You choose a Google Voice phone number, and calls to that number will forward to any numbers you choose. The last 4 digits of my new Google Voice number are 4JOY - how cool is that?

Not only does it forward to your personal phones, it also allows you to screen calls, receive voice mails, set up spam filters for those annoying telemarketers, and put people into groups with their own custom voice mail greetings and other settings. You can also place calls within the US for free!

Right now, I'm working on taking inventory of my pantry, refrigerator and freezer, so that I don't buy stuff I don't need (like the 6 cans of diced tomatoes currently residing in my cabinet).

Next up is going to be a meal planner (with recipes) for the ALL YOU Grocery Challenge that I entered, which starts on July 13th, followed by a shopping list, which I'll be able to access via Springpad Mobile on my Blackberry. How cool is that?

reQall - An Awesome Tool for Remembering Stuff

I have this installed both on my Blackberry and as a Firefox add-on. I liked it so much, I decided to splurge for the Pro version for a year. I am really happy with it, and am constantly learning new ways to use it.

reQall has several options to choose from - you don't need to have a Blackberry or an iPhone. You can use it via e-mail, IM phone, or web as well. The Pro version allows you to integrate your reQall reminders with your Outlook or Google calendar.

You can set up recurring reminders and shopping lists, and the Pro version allows you to organize them into categories or "Places". I have my Places set up as Home - Errands, Home - Tasks, Personal Errands, Work, Birthdays, Weight Watchers, etc. You can dictate an item by voice on your phone, and reQall will transcribe and add it to your list. The Standard version offers a multitude of features for free - pretty much the only things you can't do with Standard are integrate with your Outlook or Google calendar, and sort items into "Places".

There's so much you can do with it that I can't begin to describe it all here. The best way to find out is to visit the reQall website and see for yourself.

Poynt is another really useful application that I've added to my Blackberry. It enables you to find nearby businesses based on either a location you've manually entered, your GPS location or cell-site locates when GPS is unavailable.

One of the features I've found very useful is the ability to add business listing details to your address book really easily and quickly. You can also look up nearby movie showtimes and, while I have not tried this personally, you can purchase movie tickets from your phone and get seating layouts and other theater info.

This is a very slick and professional-looking application and best of all, it's free!

I have this installed on my Blackberry, and I love it! It's a service of caloriecount.about.com, which is a great site for anyone looking for count calories. They have a database of nutritional information on thousands of foods!

The mobile application provides nutritional info on the thousands of foods in their database. I have the WAP/Web version, which allows you to see the full nutritional info on your screen. I haven't tried the text version yet, but I love the WAP/Web application.

Seesmic Desktop

I'm taking this for a test-drive right now, and so far, I am really loving it!

Not only can you have multiple Twitter/Facebook account columns display side-by-side, but you can create groups of people that you follow, so that you can find and display those updates easily. I set up a group for friends and family, one for my Weight Watchers-related follows, one for coupons and shopping, one for geek stuff, etc.

If you've used Twhirl, Seesmic Desktop takes it to the next level. It's really easy to set up and use, and you can display multiple account columns across your page by clicking on the "Detach" button. The only down-side for me so far is the inability to change the color scheme, but that's a "me" issue.

I added this to my blackberry the other day, and have been having a bit of fun with it.

GyPSii is a mobile social network, and, while I'm still figuring out the ins and outs of it, it's pretty cool. You can add photos, places and update your status.

Now, using CONNECT, you can also update your facebook and Twitter status via GyPSii. It also does it in reverse - if your facebook or Twitter status was updated more recently, it can update your GyPSii status. I've got mine set up that way, and now all three services - facebook, Twitter and GyPSii update each other. Pretty cool!

I guess the best place to start would be some of my favorite web tools:

Shareaholic - This is an awesome tool for sharing links. You can use it to share links on facebook, Twitter, friendfeed, delicious, e-mail, tumblr, StumbleUpon and lots of others. I use it with Firefox all the time!
Morning Coffee - One of my favorite Firefox add-ons! It lets you organize websites by day and open them up simultaneously as part of your daily routine. You can have one set of sites open Monday-Friday, another on the weekends, and set others for every day or only on certain days. This is cool!
Clipmarks - On Clipmarks.com, you can see clips of text, images or video about all sorts of topics that other people find while surfing the web.
Wired-Marker - This is really cool. You can not only bookmark sites, but you can highlight text within the site, and it will save it with your text highlighted. And, for those who are into customizing colors, you can change your highlighter colors.
